About Us

Built so content can cross every language

PicTranslate is an AI image translation tool: upload an image and get back, in seconds, a new image with the text translated, the layout preserved, and the fonts matched. We exist so words trapped inside images can cross language borders just like everything else.

The problem we work on

Google Translate handles text. It cannot handle text inside images. Manga, e-commerce listing photos, menus, street signs, product shots, technical-doc screenshots — a huge slice of the world's content lives baked into pixels. Translating that manually + redoing layout in Photoshop takes hours per image; gluing together a generic OCR + translation API requires engineering and still loses fonts and layout. We packaged the entire pipeline into an upload-and-go tool so one person can do what used to take a team.

How we do it

Under the hood is an AI pipeline: OCR (detect where text lives and what it says) → translation (top-tier LLMs like GPT-4o and Claude maxed out for terminology and context) → text removal and background reconstruction (preserves the original texture) → typesetting and font matching (so the translation looks like it always belonged there). Manga mode adds speech-bubble detection and SFX handling; batch mode parallelises dozens of images at once; edit mode lets you tweak the result with natural language. Any-to-any across 130+ languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French.

What we believe

Tools should be free to try — sign up and you get a starter quota, no card required. Outputs belong to the creator — neither the source image nor the translated result is used to train any third-party model. The web is open — so we keep the core tool pages public, indexable, and citable by search engines and AI agents instead of locking them behind an auth wall. We're building a tool, not a data business.
