Getting started
How to translate your first image
End-to-end walkthrough: upload, pick languages, download. No signup required for the first translation — you only need an account when you want to save or batch process.
Steps
- 1
Open the translate page
Go to pictranslate.ai/translate (or pictranslate.ai/zh/translate for the Chinese interface).
- 2
Upload an image
Drop the file into the upload zone or click to pick. JPG, PNG, WebP and BMP are supported — no per-image size limit. You can also paste a public image URL.
- 3
Confirm source and target languages
Source language is auto-detected; override manually if the detection is wrong. Pick any of 130+ target languages.
- 4
Download the translated image
Translation completes in a few seconds. Click download to save the result at the same resolution as the original.
Where the translation appears
Translated text is redrawn in place — same position, same font family if available, with the original background inpainted. Compare side-by-side using the slider that appears once the translation completes.
If the translation doesn't look right
- Check the source-language detection — manually overriding it often fixes OCR errors on mixed-language images.
- Try a different translation mode (general / manga / e-commerce / novel) — they're tuned for different layouts.
- On the Max plan, switch model (GPT-4o / Claude 3.5 / Gemini Pro) — quality varies by language pair.
