Formats and modes
Choosing the right translation mode
Four translation modes (general / manga / e-commerce / novel) optimise differently. Match the mode to your content type and quality goes up immediately.
General mode
Default for screenshots, signs, menus, slides, single-text-block photos. Balanced OCR sensitivity and layout reconstruction. Use this unless one of the specialised modes clearly fits better.
Manga mode
Optimised for comic panels: detects speech bubble boundaries, handles vertical right-to-left Japanese text, recognises SFX (擬音語) and large stylised captions. Bubble fills are repainted to match the original background.
E-commerce mode
Tuned for product images and marketing banners. Preserves the persuasive tone of callouts (prices, badges, taglines) and adapts phrasing to the target market — e.g. emphasising material quality for German listings, emphasising price for Indian listings.
Novel mode
For light-novel / visual-novel illustration pages with dense text. Recognises text hierarchy (body vs. annotations vs. ruby/furigana), prioritises body translation, handles right-to-left Japanese / Chinese vertical layouts cleanly.
