Translating Korean images into Russian

Most Korean text people need translated never arrives as text. It is webtoon and manhwa episodes, cosmetics packaging, K-commerce listings and café menus — pixels, not characters, so there is nothing to select and nothing to paste into a translator.

Korean is written in hangul, whose letters stack into square syllable blocks, and unlike its neighbours it does put spaces between words. PicTranslate reads it straight off the image, translates it into Russian, and redraws the result in place, so the layout you were looking at is the layout you get back.

What Korean → Russian translation has to get right

  • ▸Syllable blocks pack two to four letters into one square, and visually similar components are the most common source of OCR errors.
  • ▸Older and formal text mixes in hanja — Chinese characters used for Korean words — which has to be read as Korean, not as Chinese.
  • ▸Case endings change a word depending on its grammatical role, so a label cannot be assembled from translated fragments.
  • ▸Russian runs somewhat longer than English and its words break awkwardly, so narrow columns need the wrap points chosen deliberately.
  • ▸Expansion: Russian runs roughly 49% longer than Korean, which is the single most common way a translated image breaks — text is re-fitted to the original box rather than allowed to spill out of it.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is Korean to Russian image translation?+

PicTranslate runs on top-tier LLMs (GPT-4o, Claude 3.5) combined with Korean OCR and Russian context modelling, producing industry-leading accuracy — even on complex layouts and domain-specific terminology.

Does the translated image keep the original layout?+

Yes. The AI detects the Korean text's position, font and background, then redraws the Russian translation in place — the output image is nearly identical in layout to the original.

What kinds of images does this work for?+

Korean e-commerce listings, manga panels, technical documents, mobile screenshots, menus and signs — any image containing Korean text can be translated into Russian.

How long does Korean → Russian translation take?+

Typically 3-5 seconds per image. Complex layouts or large files may take a little longer. Batch mode processes up to 20 images in parallel.
