Translating English images into Arabic

Most English text people need translated never arrives as text. It is app interfaces, product listings, packaging and signage from just about anywhere — pixels, not characters, so there is nothing to select and nothing to paste into a translator.

English uses the Latin alphabet with spaces between words, which is the easiest case for OCR and the baseline everything else is measured against. PicTranslate reads it straight off the image, translates it into Arabic, and redraws the result in place, so the layout you were looking at is the layout you get back.

What English → Arabic translation has to get right

  • ▸Display typography: condensed, stylised and all-caps marketing type is far harder to read than body text, and it is exactly what sits on banners and packaging.
  • ▸Right-to-left flow means lines, columns and table cells have to be re-anchored to the opposite edge, not simply overwritten in place.
  • ▸Letters must re-join correctly after the text is redrawn; rendering the isolated forms in sequence produces something no reader will accept.
  • ▸Contraction: Arabic is about 20% shorter than English, so translated text leaves gaps unless it is re-centred in the space the original occupied.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is English to Arabic image translation?+

PicTranslate runs on top-tier LLMs (GPT-4o, Claude 3.5) combined with English OCR and Arabic context modelling, producing industry-leading accuracy — even on complex layouts and domain-specific terminology.

Does the translated image keep the original layout?+

Yes. The AI detects the English text's position, font and background, then redraws the Arabic translation in place — the output image is nearly identical in layout to the original.

What kinds of images does this work for?+

English e-commerce listings, manga panels, technical documents, mobile screenshots, menus and signs — any image containing English text can be translated into Arabic.

How long does English → Arabic translation take?+

Typically 3-5 seconds per image. Complex layouts or large files may take a little longer. Batch mode processes up to 20 images in parallel.
